HOW DO I APPLY FOR HOUSING?

How much is rent?
Most of our housing offers subsidized Rental Assistance which calculates monthly rent plus utilities at 30% of gross monthly income. Non-subsidized units are priced at a fixed, Basic Rent which varies by property.
Are utilities included?
Generally, unless subsidized by a local Housing Authority, households pay for their own utilities.
Do I qualify for senior housing?
Eligible applicants must be 62 years or older or disabled/handicapped in order to qualify for senior housing.
What’s the unit mix? Do you have any three-bedroom apartments?
All properties offer a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, with the exception of 16 three-bedroom units located in Farmingdale.
ARE PETS WELCOME?
Pets under 30 pounds that have been neutered and are current in their well-care vaccinations are welcome at our senior properties with a $200 pet deposit.
How large are your apartments? Do you have any interior pictures?

is smoking allowed?
Smoking is prohibited within twenty-five (25) feet of any building and inside the common areas of any building. In addition, there are many “smoke-free” apartments where all smoking is prohibited.
I applied over a year ago and AM STILL WAITING. Why are wait lists so long?
We log accepted applicants in order of receipt. It is difficult to estimate when housing will become available; we must first be notified that a tenant is moving out, and existing applicants may have fulfilled their housing needs elsewhere.
Some locations have a much shorter waiting list than others. Please call us at the office for additional information.
WHY ARE YOU ADVERTISING IF WAIT LISTS ARE SO LONG?
The USDA/RD programs require that advertising be on-going in order to create a waiting list.
DO ANY PROPERTIES OFFER ASSISTED LIVING?
NO.
CAN I SEE AN EMPTY APARTMENT IN PERSON?
Yes. Please call us at the office to setup an appointment.

Yes, coin-operated washers & dryers are available at each location.
